This week, Le Ann Maxima The Curve took on the opportunity to dress a group of women from all ages, body shapes and professions.

Mai Chi is a writer who takes on both creative and corporate projects. While on most occassions she can be casual and subtle, on days where she needs to meet corporate clients, she needs to rev up the polished sleek image to impress. The attention grabbing lace skirt is daring yet classy as the length is right at the knee. Work this all-black ensemble with a red pair of heels.

Vivienne Loke is an offshore investment adviser, and while she spends most of her days in her corporate wear, the moment the weekend calls, she puts on her best cocktail dresses to hit town for some R&R time. Cocktail dresses need not be too revealing or overtly over the top to grab attention. This one shoulder dress kicks off conversations with a 3D flower design on the sleeve that helps highlights her shoulders.

Janice Yeung is an education entrepreneur who are out meeting clients and dealing with young kids on a daily basis. Because of her petite frame, Janice has always prefer to wear pants and blouses. We recommended a v-neck minidress that stops right at the knee to help show that even petite frames can pull off beautifully cut and framed dresses.

Zoe Chua is a young out and about green entrepreneur who has a spunky personality and very vibrant lifestyle. Zoe loves sticking to masculine cut pieces like vests, shirts and pants and we pulled a dress with military utility element that really jazzes up her style. The dress retains the feminine touch while the military element gives it the ommph!

Michelle Chan (in purple) is the owner of an events/talents management company while Yvonne Yap (in black) is a beauty entrepreneur. Both the ladies enjoy the benefits of having slender and tall body shapes which makes it perfect for them to fit into various evening dresses regardless of cut and fit. Michelle rocks a balloon shape one shoulder satin dress for a more fashionable touch while Yvonne works a classic opulent look with the embroidery halter dress that is asymmetrical at the hems.

Prudence Loh is a florist who meets clients everyday to see how they can best express their messages through flowers. Comfort is her main priority but this need not be a substitute for style. She works it in of our signature maxi dresses that gives her comfort, style while keeping her cool in our all-year long summer weather.

• One of the key motifs for this season is the floral print that we have adapted as a paint splash design on both leggings and a pareo top. The legging is bold, strong and a piece that most may not dare to experiment with. However, the easiest way of wearing a strong statement piece like the paint splash design leggings is to tone it down with a block colour second piece. In the styling above, we have paired it with an all white butterfly jersey top to give it the relaxed and easy feel highlighting the piece without being over the top.

• The same styling concept is applied with the splash paint design pareo, keeping the second piece, in this case the knee-length shorts, simple. You can pair it with either black or white bottoms to bring out the design of the pareo which you can style in four different ways.

• This ensemble is perfect for a day out shopping or running errands. The knitted cotton top is breezy and paired with a white pair of shorts and a huge hobo bag and you are ready to move around in the hot weather. The hobo bag gives you all the room that you need to carry your things around. The shorts come with a removable belt to give you more options to play with.

• An All-White stylish and sporty combo that is also very functional. The underlayer is a white tank top (which is currently available for RM 18 in stores as a purchase for purchase item) paired with a pair of white shorts and on the outside, accessorize with a linen utility jacket. The utility jacket and its abundance of pockets would be easy for you to keep things especially when you are on the run. Wearing an all-white ensemble can really bring out your skin tone and stand out from the crowd with its pristine aura.

• A simple feminine get-up for the more girlish, this chiffon flowing black top paired with a mini skirt makes its perfect for casual lunches or a coffee date. The subtle colours gives off a sophisticated edge and yet retain the sensous touch of a woman. For a more sexy feel, pair this combo with killer six-inch stilletos, or if you want to tone it down for a walk in the park, slip on a glittery pair of sandals.

We have reviewed a many trends for this Spring Summer 2010 and one of the main feedback that we usually receive from customers is the tips to make a certain piece more versatile and to be able to mix and match it with pieces from other collections. This post is a mini styling tips edition in reference to the pieces that we have featured.

from the lace factor:

• Wrap your free-form cardigan over the top of a white lacey knee-length dress for that contrast two-tone look. when you are ready, loose the cardigan and reveal your beautiful white dress which brings out the best of your skin tone.

• For a playful date, slip on the teen-inspired lacey dress paired with a pair of straw wedges for a more natural and back-to-earth feel. This look is a perfect contrast to the office attire or power suit that you wear for work during the week. Notice the large beaded necklace also in white to really bring out the White on White factor which is something that is difficult to pull off, but all so stunning when perfected. Remember to bring a jacket with you for emergency purposes!

• this is a bold styling combo, a fuschia lacey cut-out blouse with a mini lacey skirt, both of the same cotton fabrication. While most mix-match tips usually pair two different materials for tops and bottoms or inner and outer, this double cotton+lace combo is a different twist that really gives out a very sophisticated air.

• this is the reverse of the styling just before, a cut-out lace skirt paired with a yellow short-sleeved lace blouse bringing out the effect of casual and classy.

• We are loving this look, bringing together the best of both worlds, the casualness of the lacey see-through blouse and the more symmetrical shape of the tulip skirt. The result, a combo that can take you from easy to evening, depending on shoe and accessory choices.

The next series of pieces all share the same element of a two-layer diagonal ruffle across the front to give it the feminine touch and to spice up an otherwise ordinary piece. Sometimes, all you need, is just a little biased cut to give a refreshing take on those classic pieces which you always wear but wish it was little bit more outstanding.

First in line is the sleeveless dress, in 100% georgette fabrication and available in the standard black and white and the stunning deep blue which really brings out the best of your skin colour especially if worn for a day time cocktail event. Dress it down with a pair of leggings and a pair of sling back sandals for a more casual and relaxed look OR jazz it all up with stilettos, a clinch-waist belt and sexy accessories for a more dressy look.

The pattern continues onto a long sleeve blouse with the same fabrication and colour availability in deep blue, yellow and white. We cannot emphasize enough on the importance of jazzing up your work wardrobe with off-the-norm shirts like these ones to make your work day more stylish and modern. Rather than the usual button down shirt, blouses like these will take you from day to night in a jiffy and the ruffles will also peek out nicely from under your outer jacket. Being on top of the corporate ladder does not mean you need to sacrifice your fashion sense!

We have slightly over a month more before Summer leaves us so let’s make it the very best few weeks and bring our attention back to all the happy clappy colourful clothes while we still can!

There are about thirty over designs which are due to arrive in the month and half and you will see the gradual  transcient of colours and designs toning down to take us to our next season.

The focus for the next few weeks are soft and airy material dresses in layered and biased cuts which gives it the different spark from just a normal dress. As you have probably noticed by now, the signature H-line cut is our brand’s favourite shape to play with mainly because it is flattering to almost all body type and it’s perfect for almost all non-formal occassions too!

For now though, we are going to look at our limited edition key motif embroidery pieces available as a blouse, a dress and a long gown.

Flower embroidery evokes innocence and a sense of old charm which is a rare find these days with all the sexy slinky trends dominating the market. Throw these pieces on with minimal accessories and nude make-up for the times where you need to go subtle and quaint. Leave it all to the embroidery, they will definitely spark conversations, appropriate and classy ones.
