ss2010 trend alert: lace

Ah! The image and perception that the texture of lace evokes; demure, sweet, lovely, sugar and spice and everything nice.

Exactly what we had in mind when we weaved the many many lace inspired pieces for spring summer 2010. Lace is one of the central fabric and detailing that we have focused on for this season, mainly because it is just so airy and breezy and absolutely synonymous with bright happy weather.

For the lace pieces, we focus on the central three colours, white, yellow and burnt orange. The white is a perfect under layer for work outfits, casual looks paired with outer wear; the yellow and burnt orange are daring enough to stand on their own paired with black or white bottoms.

We start with this sleeveless top with scallop cotton lace styled here for a casual look with jeans, a waist-belt and our SS2010 signature leather bag. Put on a jacket with this look and you are good to hop on a plane for travel-ready wear. Swap the jeans for black pants and heels with a outer layer wrap, you can go for a date. The scallop detailing continues to another piece which is the dress version of the top, imagine the top elongated to your knees, and voila, a dress that can take you from work with a wrap around cardigan or just for a casual day out on its own.

It’s available in white, burnt orange and yellow. (all accessories, shoes and bags in the photos are available at all LAM stores)

This is the ultimately sweet and simple shift dress that is adorned with lace panels just to add on the extra sugar and spice. This dress is extremely versatile and flattering to almost all body types because of its cut which has no waist shaping or seam. It gives off a painfully stylish aura ala Victoria Beckham (the woman who champions shift dresses in her earlier pop star days). Available in off white, orange and black.

All the lace pieces in store are made out of good old cotton, you know the drill. 🙂

these items are now available in all Le Ann Maxima stores
